“After the meal, I was ablе to inquire about the life of this soon-to-be master of nine ancient Japanese arts. She described her apprenticeship as a multi-year journey, one that requires discipline, patience, and most of all, mastery. Only one year in, as her lipstick suggested, she had many years of “practice” to go before becoming a Geisha but still held the celebrity status that only a few (50 in total) have in all of Japan.” Kusama shared, before adding, “It was there and then I realized that Shib too was still a young pup.”
He drew parallels between the Maiko’s journey and Shiba Inu’s ongoing development, emphasizing that while SHIB has already achieved remarkable success, its full potential remains untapped. Kusama believes that many still misunderstand the project’s long-term vision and underlying ethos.
