Donald Trump is hosting a campaign fundraiser in Nashville, Tennessee, in the wake of the Bitcoin Conference 2024. The event features a top-tier ticket priced at $844,600 per person and coincides with Trump’s keynote address at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference.
The highest-priced tickets, which include a seat at a roundtable with Trump, are set at the maximum donation limit allowed for individuals to contribute to Trump and the Republican Party’s primary joint fundraising committee called the Trump 47 Committee.
At the next level down, people can take a photo with the Republican presidential candidate at $60,000 per person or $100,000 per couple as listed in the invitation. Tracy Alloway, a managing editor at Bloomberg Markets and co-host of the Odd Lots podcast, shared details of the invite on X. Her post has resulted in mixed reactions, with some calling the move “bullish.”
The Shib Daily reported previously that Trump has been an outspoken critic of crypto and now has adopted the pro-crypto stance. He launched his latest NFT collection on the Solana blockchain in April this year.
The fundraiser event accepts digital currency donations, and Trump also pledged to protect the rights of individuals who choose to self-custody their coins, meaning they manage their tokens in personal crypto wallets rather than relying on centralized entities like Coinbase. This method can sometimes place the tokens beyond the reach of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Trump had also declared previously that all future Bitcoins would be minted in the U.S. if he comes to power. He took to Truth Social, his own social media platform to express this. In his words, “VOTE FOR TRUMP! Bitcoin mining may be our last line of defence against a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency). Biden’s hatred of Bitcoin only helps China, Russia, and the Radical Communist Left. We want all the remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA!!! It will help us be ENERGY DOMINANT!!!”
Recently, Trump named Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate, who has been quite a popular face in the crypto space. Vance who is also a Venture Capitalist revealed that he owns Bitcoin worth between $100,000 and $250,000.
Amid Trump’s campaign rallies, Joe Biden officially announced his withdrawal from the 2024 U.S. presidential race on Sunday. In response, Trump told NBC News that Biden “is the worst president in the history of the United States by far.”
Trump’s campaign has gained the support of big tech companies with the likes of Andreessen Horowitz, Ripple, Coinbase, and Jump Crypto as per CNBC.
