The Shiba Inu ecosystem continues to expand as it prepares to unveil a Web3 version of its acclaimed collectible card game, Shiba Eternity, powered by the Shibarium layer-2 scaling solution. This highly anticipated closed beta launch is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
Shiba Inu Games’ gaming lead, Angel, shared with The Shib Daily, “The entire team has been working tirelessly in bringing Shiba Eternity onto Shibarium while staying true to its core principle of competitive yet enjoyable gameplay. I hope the community is as excited as we are for our beta release.”
Shiba Eternity, a strategic card game launched in October 2022, has already garnered a significant following due to its engaging gameplay. The transition to a Web3 version promises to elevate the experience further. As Angel noted, “Shiba Eternity, at its core, is a cerebral yet enjoyable game; the gameplay alone keeps our loyal following.”
Shibarium integration will introduce groundbreaking features such as true ownership of in-game assets, a player-driven economy, and a form of governance that empowers the community. Angel emphasized the value proposition, stating, “With the Web3 version of Shiba Eternity, we aim to showcase the value that Shibarium can provide to players and developers.”

This development aligns with the vision shared by Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of the Shiba Inu project, a couple of years ago. Kusama hinted at the potential for Shiba Eternity to be licensed for use on Shibarium, with decentralized elements enhancing the mobile version. This integration would offer unique opportunities within the Shiba Inu ecosystem while ensuring the game remains independent.
“Well, the completed game, will be licensed solely to the decentralized team at Shiba Inu for use on Shibarium. They’ll also be able to add various decentralized elements to enhance this mobile version. *WINK* ,” the Shiba Inu enigmatic lead developer said, at the time.

The upcoming Web3 release of Shiba Eternity marks a significant step towards realizing this vision. “Shibarium is designed to ensure seamless gameplay by offering high scalability at a low cost. We’re on track to release the closed beta of Shiba Eternity in Q3 this year,” Angel confirmed.
