November 22, 2024

Today’s crypto news highlights essential themes related to crypto’s far-reaching implications for governance and trust in financial systems, outcomes for key figures involved in crypto fraud, and the convergence of crypto and politics.

Looking at the bright side, Shiba Inu (SHIB) is positioned for a substantial price leap as highlighted by an analyst’s forecast, and Shib Games has introduced the play-to-win mechanics of Shiba Inu Web3 games.

Ex-CSRC Official in Hot Water Over Cryptocurrency Bribery Case

Yao Qian, the former director of the science and technology supervision unit of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), is embroiled in a cryptocurrency bribery scandal. He is accused of taking bribes via cryptocurrencies. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) revealed that Yao ignored political ethics and posed as a financial tech expert, which made him a target for exploitation. During his time at the CSRC, he reportedly misused his position to help tech companies grow, cover personal expenses, and accept large bribes. The CCDI said he abused his authority to favor specific technology providers, facilitating business expansions and illegal transactions. Yao also directed personal expenses to organizations he oversaw, borrowed large sums of money unlawfully, and accepted exceptionally large bribes. His case prompts concerns about future cryptocurrency regulations in China.

Gary Wang Avoids Jail Time Through Cooperation with Prosecutors

Gary Wang, once FTX’s chief technology officer, dodged jail time after his role in the fraud orchestrated by Sam Bankman-Fried. Judge Lewis Kaplan sentenced him to three years of supervised release and required him to forfeit funds from his involvement. Wang testified in Bankman-Fried’s 2023 trial, which led to the latter’s fraud conviction. Prosecutors lauded Wang for his cooperation, stressing his proactive role in the investigation. They also acknowledged his significant contributions to developing fraud detection tools. This cooperation led to a recommendation for a more lenient sentencing outcome.

Trump’s Team Eyes First-Ever White House Position for Digital Assets

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is considering creating a White House role dedicated to digital assets. They are consulting with industry leaders to determine the necessity of this role. The position would oversee a small team that facilitates communication between the White House, Congress, and regulatory bodies like the SEC and CFTC. On November 19, 2024, Trump met with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and former executive Brian Brooks to discuss industry issues. If created, this would be the first dedicated role in a U.S. administration focused on digital assets.

SHIB Poised for 55% Price Surge, Shib Games Unveils Play-to-Win Feature

SHIB is on the brink of a significant 55% price breakout. A rise to $0.000037 could happen if it breaks through the $0.000025 resistance level. Analyst Ali Martinez predicts this outcome, citing a “bull flag” formation. This formation shows a sudden price increase followed by a consolidation period within a downward channel. The chart Martinez shared highlights this flag, which indicates that the bullish trend may still have room to grow.

Another development in the Shiba Inu ecosystem comes from Shib Games. The team has introduced play-to-win mechanics incorporated across Shiba Inu’s entire game roster, including Shiba Eternity and Agent Shiboshi. Participants can enter tournaments and earn rewards, with entry fees differing for each event. Players can accumulate points just by participating, redeemable for an upcoming token airdrop. Each tournament will also have a real-time leaderboard to display player standings. Check out this video or read the details here to learn more.
