The Shiba Inu ecosystem, once a poster child of the meme-coin phenomenon, now aggressively pivots towards global adoption. Former lead visionary, Shytoshi Kusama, assumes a new role as Lead Ambassador, signaling a profound transformation in the project’s trajectory and a push for real-world utility.
Shiba Inu Visionary Transitions, Citing a Fulfilled Vision
The Shiba Inu project, which captured the imagination of the cryptocurrency world with its rapid rise, entered a new phase this week. Kusama, known as “Shy” within the community, announced his move from lead visionary to Lead Ambassador.
In a blog post detailing the transition, Kusama stated, “I can now say I have accomplished my initial goal with flying colors. Shib remains in the top 20 tokens, Shibarium has 800M flawless transactions and so much more.” This shift indicates a move beyond the project’s meme-inspired origins towards a strategically focused initiative.
Strategic Repositioning Beyond Meme Coin Status
Kusama’s transition signals a strategic repositioning for Shiba Inu. The project seeks to evolve beyond its origins to what Kusama describes as a “Network State,” offering a framework to help governments, businesses, and individuals transition to Web3.

This framework leverages the ecosystem’s core tokens—SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT—on the Shibarium network, aiming to expand utility.
Shiba Inu Operating System and Global Reach
A critical component of this new strategy is the focus on Shiba Inu operating system or ShibOS, formerly known as the 36 Chambers of Tech. This technology stack provides a framework for building Web3 applications.
As Lead Ambassador, Kusama will promote ShibOS, stating, “My job moving forward will be to guide projects interested in building with the 36 Chambers of Tech (rebranded to ShibOS simply because there are more than 36 now), and helping them implement global solutions at all levels with our technologies.”

Zama CEO, Rand Hindi, expressed support for Kusama’s new role, saying, “Thank you for all your great work @ShytoshiKusama! Looking forward to working together on making ShibOS the operating system for all network states.”
Decentralized Governance and Community Empowerment
Further emphasizing the shift, the project is transitioning towards decentralized governance through the DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). Kusama stated, “Finally, I’ll tie up loose ends, and ensure the smooth transition to control by the DAOs,” demonstrating a commitment to community control.
