The crypto industry has its eyes on the so-called Trump Crypto Ball, an event hosted by BTC Inc., along with Stand With Crypto, marking a significant moment for blockchain and digital innovation.
The Inaugural Crypto Ball is set to take place three days prior to incoming U.S. President Donald Trump’s inauguration, which is scheduled for January 20. David Sacks, the newly appointed AI and Crypto Czar, is expected to host the event, which will feature several prominent industry leaders.
However, Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett reports that Trump himself will not be attending.
“Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as we celebrate the 60th Presidential Inauguration and the leadership of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance,” the event’s homepage states.
The event will include an exclusive VIP reception, organized by MAGA Inc., a super PAC that supports Trump and his initiatives. VIP reception tickets to the Trump Crypto Ball are available for $100,000 each, with an exclusive package of four tickets offered at $1 million. The package also includes a private dinner with President-elect Trump at a future date.
As the new administration takes office, crypto industry leaders are expected to gain greater influence in Washington, D.C. The incoming government is poised to become the most crypto-friendly in history, with plans to introduce policies and regulations that support the growth of the digital asset sector.
Crypto industry leaders may also be competing for spots on President-elect Trump’s proposed crypto advisory council, which is expected to include up to 22 CEOs and founders from the digital asset space.
With Sacks appointed as the crypto czar, his role will be key in shaping crypto policy, acting as the primary liaison between the Trump administration and the digital asset sector. Market analysts anticipate that Sacks will be instrumental in reducing overly restrictive regulations and advocating for policies that align the crypto industry with traditional financial systems.
Leading companies in the crypto industry, including MicroStrategy, MetaMask, Galaxy Digital, Metaplanet, and Coinbase, have signed on as sponsors for the upcoming Trump Crypto Ball. Recently, Bitcoin mining giant Marathon Digital also added its name to the list of event sponsors.
Trump’s Inaugural Committee Receives Donations
Trump’s Inaugural Committee has recently received significant donations from a variety of tech companies and crypto industry leaders. Global fintech firm Circle recently donated $1 million in USD Coin (USDC) to the committee.
Ripple Labs, the digital payment protocol, donated $5 million in XRP tokens to the Inaugural Committee. This contribution comes on the heels of reports indicating that Ripple executives held discussions with President-elect Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
The record-breaking $170 million raised by the inaugural committee emphasizes a concerted effort by major tech companies to cultivate strong ties with the former president. The substantial contributions suggest these companies are aiming to strengthen their influence and secure favorable connections moving forward.
