Google has removed live price charts for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from its search results. Users who typically check cryptocurrency prices by searching terms like “Bitcoin price” or “Ethereum price” no longer see the charts, which have been available since 2018.
However, Google has not provided an official explanation for this change, and it is uncertain whether the removal is temporary or permanent.
Although cryptocurrency price charts have been removed, stock and index charts continue to appear in search results. The feature had previously allowed users to quickly check the price of Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies directly from the search engine. Those looking for cryptocurrency prices must use other sources for real-time updates.
For users seeking an alternative, Google Finance still offers cryptocurrency information. However, the most recent updates to this data were recorded on October 7, raising questions about potential technical issues with the data feed. This may suggest that the removal of the cryptocurrency price charts from Google’s search results could be linked to a broader data capture problem, though no confirmation has been provided.
What About Shiba Inu?
In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, the price charts for Shiba Inu have also been removed, while Dogecoin price data remains available. The pattern behind which cryptocurrencies have had their charts removed appears inconsistent, as some prominent assets still need to be included while others remain unaffected. This has led to speculation within the crypto community about what might be driving the changes.
Google has supported Bitcoin price information since 2013 and introduced an automatic conversion tool for Bitcoin’s price in 2014. Over the years, the search engine expanded its cryptocurrency price features to include other assets like Ethereum and XRP.
According to data from Google Trends, searches for Bitcoin have dropped significantly, reaching a low point not seen in over a year. While searches for memecoins have increased. Crypto enthusiasts have noted this decrease in interest, but no direct link has been confirmed between search volume and the removal of the price charts.

At present, users will need to rely on Google Finance or alternative platforms to check Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency prices, as Google has not provided further updates or clarifications on the matter.
