Italian football club SSC Napoli has announced its partnership with The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming platform, to establish its presence in the metaverse. This collaboration will allow fans to interact with the club and its players through various digital experiences within The Sandbox platform.
As part of this partnership, SSC Napoli will launch the SSC Napoli Official Metaverse Store, which will be featured in four user-generated experiences on The Sandbox. These experiences will include appearances by players such as Leonardo Spinazzola, Frank Zambo Anguissa, Amir Rrahmani, and Matteo Politano. Fans who visit all four pop-ups can win tickets to SSC Napoli home games, signed merchandise, and virtual Napoli apparel.
The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has previously collaborated with athletes like LaMelo Ball. However, this partnership with SSC Napoli marks the platform’s first activation with a sports team.

SSC Napoli’s entrance into the metaverse aims to provide fans new ways to engage with the club. The partnership will be featured during the Coppa Italia and will continue to be highlighted at SSC Napoli home games throughout the season. The Sandbox will be integrated into various screens on and around the pitch, further promoting the collaboration.
