Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of the Shiba Inu crypto project, has officially joined the ranks of the crypto elites on X (formerly Twitter) by reaching a major milestone of 1 million followers. Shy, as he is fondly called by the Shib Army, now joins an exclusive group of influential figures in the crypto space. Among these elites are Elon Musk (@elonmusk), CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who boasts approximately 184.9 million followers; Vitalik Buterin (@VitalikButerin), co-founder of Ethereum, with about 4.8 million followers; Tyler Winklevoss (@tyler), co-founder of Gemini, with over 1 million followers; Michael Saylor (@saylor), CEO of MicroStrategy, with a strong following of 3.2 million; Anthony Pompliano (@APompliano), a renowned crypto investor and podcast host, with over 1.6 million followers; and Changpeng Zhao (CZ) (@cz_binance), CEO of Binance, with around 2.1 million followers.
Kusama’s journey to this milestone began with a playful X post back in March, where he asked, “And gee, can I hit 1M followers?” accompanied by a GIF that read, “Or note?” On June 17, he achieved his goal, much to the delight of the passionate Shiba Inu community, affectionately known as the SHIB Army.
The SHIB Army celebrated Kusama’s achievement with an outpouring of congratulatory messages and even several giveaways on X. Some users expressed their excitement for the future of Shiba Inu under Kusama’s leadership, while others simply rejoiced in the community’s collective accomplishment.
The Shib Army took to X to express their joy and congratulations. User @dhelzkiie7 created a fun meme showcasing the Shib Army celebrating the latest milestone. TanzeelSHIB (@TanzeelSHIB) congratulated Kusama and announced that the giveaway to celebrate Kusama reaching 1 million users, is set to take place on July 4. ShibaXanders (@ShibaXanders) expressed their excitement with celebratory posts. Other users like @Mazrael and @mad2big also joined in the celebrations, highlighting the strong and vibrant community behind Shiba Inu.
This milestone is more than just a number for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. It represents the growing recognition and influence of the project within the broader crypto landscape. Kusama’s large following provides a platform to communicate directly with a vast audience of crypto enthusiasts, potentially driving further adoption and awareness of Shiba Inu.
