Binance co-founder Yi He, in a bold move to tackle the rising issue of cryptocurrency scams, has joined with the Shib Army to seek the aid of tech mogul Elon Musk.
This move aims to pressure Musk and force his social media platform X to implement stronger measures against fraudulent activities plaguing the crypto space.
Yi He has, in a move echoing the complaints of the Shiba Inu community, publicly called out Elon Musk and his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) for its failure to adequately address the rampant issue of cryptocurrency scams.
Her appeal, much like the passionate pleas often seen from some members of the Shib Army, was triggered by a recent impersonation scam on X, where fraudulent accounts posing as her, promoted non-existent Binance-backed memecoins, luring unsuspecting users into clicking malicious links with the potential for financial loss.
He took to X herself, sharing screenshots of the fake accounts and directly questioning Musk’s commitment to curbing such scams. She specifically highlighted the memecoin scam, warning users of its fraudulent nature and urging them to avoid clicking on any suspicious links.
In a tweet directed at Musk, He wrote, “I have not issued any new MEMEcoins. Clicking on the link will result in your money being stolen. Many people were tricked by this hacker link and lost a significant amount of money today. Is there any way to address this issue? @elonmusk”
This public call-out, reminiscent of the Shib Army’s vocal campaigns, underscores the growing frustration within the crypto community regarding the prevalence of scams on social media platforms, particularly on X, where the rapid pace of information sharing and potential for anonymity can make it difficult for users to differentiate between legitimate projects and fraudulent schemes.

Another account that belongs to Shib Army OG Xander was also impersonated as shared by Shib Army Scam Alerts, an account “dedicated to exposing scams and protecting” the community.
In a recent tweet, the account said, “Impersonators/Scammers who often create accounts so they can provide misleading information to create doubt, misdirect you to fake websites, request funds from you for an emergency or even obtain details about your lives, which they can then utilize maliciously against you. Always ensure you are connected to official people remember no one from our team will ever contact you via private messages and request you synchronize your wallet OR ask you for personal information. Report suspicious activity & keep our community safe!”
While the onus falls on platforms like X to actively combat these scams, it’s equally crucial for users to exercise caution and vigilance. Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Always verify the authenticity of accounts and links, especially those promising unrealistic returns or exclusive access to tokens.
