ChewySwap, a cryptocurrency exchange platform on Shibarium, is exploring the integration of in-app wallets within Telegram bot mini apps. This development, currently in the testing phase, aims to streamline user experience by allowing users to create wallets directly within the Telegram interface using just an email address or phone number.
“We’ve been searching for ways to help make onboarding easier for new users particularly those who may be hesitant to install a wallet app. Going by my first experiences with DeF it can be an intimidating process for new users creating a wallet, reading all these warnings about seed phrase and then finally adding the correct network info worrying you might do something wrong,” Jimakel, the pseudonymous founder of ChewySwap told The Shib Daily.
Telegram Mini Apps are a new feature that expands on the capabilities of traditional bots. Built with web technologies like JavaScript, these web apps can be launched directly within chats on Telegram. Unlike bots, which mainly handle text-based commands, they offer a more interactive experience with a web interface. This means developers can create rich and flexible interfaces that look like regular websites, all without users ever leaving the Telegram app.
Mini Apps also make it easier for users to log in and interact with them through seamless authorization. Additionally, they come integrated with popular payment providers like Google Pay and Apple Pay, allowing for in-app purchases and transactions.
The integration of in-app wallets within Telegram Mini Apps offers multiple advantages. Firstly, it removes the need for users to navigate separate applications or websites to create cryptocurrency wallets. This simplifies the onboarding process, potentially attracting new users to the platform and the broader crypto ecosystem.
Additionally, the in-app wallet is designed to be compatible with Shibarium, the innovative layer 2 scaling solution for Shiba Inu (SHIB), as well as any other blockchain network built on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This broad compatibility allows ChewySwap to cater to a wider range of cryptocurrency users and projects.
“So. the goal with these in app wallets and social media login is to make it as easy as possible for new users to get their feet wet on shibarium. The possibilities as far as a wallet integrate telegram bot are endless, can capitalize on the tap game hype to bring new users to Shibarium, run free mints, free token airdrops, etc,” said Jimakel.
The tweet by ChewySwap emphasizes the potential use cases for this in-app wallet integration. One specific example mentioned is play-to-earn (P2E) games, a flourishing segment within the crypto space. By integrating the wallet directly within Telegram Mini Apps, P2E games built on the Telegram platform could offer a seamless user experience for in-game transactions and asset management.
Beyond P2E games, the tweet suggests a “multitude of use cases” for this technology, hinting at broader applications within the realm of decentralized finance (DeFi) and other Web3 functionalities accessible through Telegram.
It’s important to note that this feature is currently under testing. While ChewySwap hasn’t disclosed a specific timeline for its launch, this development highlights the ongoing efforts to improve user experience and accessibility within the cryptocurrency space. Integrating wallets within familiar platforms like Telegram could potentially bridge the gap for those hesitant about venturing into dedicated crypto applications.
