ChewySwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Shibarium layer-2 blockchain, has taken a significant step towards inclusivity by introducing a multilingual dapp (decentralized application). This update allows users to navigate the platform and swap tokens in their native language, removing a potential barrier for non-native English speakers.
With the new feature, ChewySwap now supports a total of 28 languages. Users can easily switch between languages using the globe icon located in the top right corner of the dapp interface. This functionality caters to a wider global audience, fostering a more accessible and user-friendly experience for cryptocurrency enthusiasts worldwide.
ChewySwap acknowledged that this is the initial iteration of its multilingual capabilities, and there might be occasional errors in some language translations. To ensure a seamless user experience, it encouraged users to report any discrepancies encountered in their native language via the ChewySwap Telegram group.
The Importance of Multilingual Dapps in DeFi
The Decentralized Finance (DeFi) landscape is witnessing exponential growth, attracting a global audience. However, many of this potential user base faces limitations due to language barriers.
“We were motivated to add multilingual support by our website analytics showing an increasing number of users from places such as Vietnam, Germany, Eastern Europe among others. Also with the difficulty in providing support for features to non-English speakers. If the swap speaks their language it helps break down those barriers,” Jim, the pseudonymous founder of ChewySwap told The Shib Daily.
Multilingual support significantly enhances the user experience. Users can comfortably navigate the DApp, understand its functionalities, and make informed decisions regarding their crypto transactions. This fosters a more engaging and user-friendly environment, encouraging users to interact more confidently with the platform.
“I can see this helping to bring more adoption of Shibarium especially to Asian communities from whom we’ve received the most requests for this feature. It’s our hope that this helps more users explore advanced areas of DeFi such as providing liquidity and farming which benefits Shibarium’s TVL,” said Jim.
By eliminating language barriers, ChewySwap opens its doors to a broader audience, allowing more people to participate in DeFi activities on the Shibarium network. This increased accessibility can lead to a surge in user adoption for both ChewySwap and the Shibarium ecosystem.
