Tutti Frutti Women (TFW) continues to make waves in the digital and real-world spaces with its mission to empower cancer warriors. Recently, the organization showcased its NFT project on Times Square, marking a significant milestone in its journey of spreading awareness and support for those affected by cancer.
Since its establishment in 2022, TFW has been dedicated to supporting cancer warriors and raising awareness about the challenges they face. Through various initiatives, including the publication of a motivational book featuring cancer survivors and the creation of NFTs, TFW has been at the forefront of driving positive change in the community.
In January 2024, TFW expanded to Shibarium, the Layer 2 blockchain solution for Shiba Inu. Since then, they’ve minted over 116 NFTs from their 5,000 collection and burned 1.5 million $SHIB tokens. These efforts have financially supported two cancer warriors while rewarding their community members.
In an exclusive interview with The Shib Daily, Andreia, the founder of TFW, shared insights into the inspiration behind the Times Square display, its potential impact on the project’s visibility, and the process of securing such a prominent location.
What was the inspiration behind showcasing your NFT project on Times Square, and what do you hope to achieve by this display?
Andreia: The decision to showcase our NFT project on Times Square was inspired by the spirit of collaboration and celebration within the web3 community. Now, with this opportunity, we’re seizing the moment to share the spotlight with other talented creators, embodying our motto of “together we thrive” in its truest sense. It’s about lifting each other up, celebrating diversity, and spreading positivity throughout the web3 community.
And what truly makes my heart race is that Susan, a breast cancer champion who kicked cancer’s butt, was there with us. I’m so happy and grateful that she is a fighter who has inspired our community for the past 2 years. Now, with this chance, the world had the opportunity to meet a true champion. I have goosebumps writing this!
How do you believe the exposure from Times Square will impact the visibility and perception of your NFT project within the broader community?
Andreia: Exposure in Times Square boosts visibility for NFT projects. Yet, due to guidelines reflecting real-world perceptions, it’s challenging for crypto/NFT projects to feature there. This showcases the need for evolving perceptions. With our project, we demonstrate that blockchain tech can be used for good, highlighting the positive impact and potential for social change.
Can you share any insights into the process of getting your NFT project displayed in such a prominent location like Times Square?
Andreia: Securing a spot for our projects in Times Square involved quite a journey, to say the least! There were plenty of emails exchanged with the compliance team, navigating through various requirements and guidelines. It was definitely a process, but worth every moment.
TFW’s presence in Times Square not only highlights the organization’s commitment to supporting cancer warriors but also serves as a testament to the positive impact of blockchain technology in driving social change.
